Walter Samuel “Sonny” Heatherly, age 85, of Mineral Springs, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at his home. He was born June 13, 1937, in Liberty Eylau, Texas, the son of the late Gerald and Mary Lou Huffart Heatherly.
Mr. Heatherly was a member of the New Shiloh Baptist Church. During his 35 year career he worked as a lineman for REA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Annette Holden; three brothers, J.D., Robert, and Earl Heatherly; and two sisters, Ruby Bratton and Mamie Heatherly.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years ,Barbara Ann Heatherly of Mineral Springs, Ark.; one grandson, Jonathan Holden and wife Christine of Mineral Springs, Ark.; one great-grandson, Matthew Holden of Mineral Springs, Ark.; a special niece, Lori Brown of Bryant, Ark.; as well several nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, burial to follow at Corinth Cemetery, with Bro. Ben Jones officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
