Dildy Lee Reed, age 91,of Nashville, Ark., died on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Ozan, Ark., the son of the late Roy and Vida Reed.

Mr. Reed was a member of Sardis Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Nashville High School the class of 1950. During his career he worked 30-plus years with Jacob E. Decker Meat Packing Company, where he retired in 1986 and became a full-time rancher.

He had 50 years of service to the Grand Lodge of Arkansas as a 32nd degree Mason and held various offices during his tenure. Locally he served in the Pleasant Valley Masonic Lodge #30. Dildy Lee also had 25 years of service to the Elberta Chapter #538 Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices as well. He played a vital role in the Scrapper Booster Club, Arkansas Cattleman’s Association, and the Sardis Cemetery Association.

Dildy was a champion bowler and throughout his life was absolutely and without question the biggest St. Louis Cardinal fan on the planet. Dildy cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marjorie Reed, they were married in 1949 at Nashville, Ark.

Survivors include: two sons, Max Reed and wife Glenda of Ozan, Ark., Rodney Reed and wife Penny of Nashville, Ark.; one daughter Brenda Kay Reed of Nashville, Ark.; grandchildren Jennifer Schelette (Shannon McTire) of Ragley, La., Justin Schelette (Lauren Brown) of Iowa, La., Lee Reed (Michelle) of Poolville, Texas, Leslie Cole (Steve) of Lockesburg, Ark., Clint Reed (Lindsay Ledgerwood) of North Little Rock, Ark., Aleshia Erwin (Jason) of Paraloma, Ark., Derek Reed (Kim) of Kansas City, Kan., and Adrienne Reed (Stephen Pack) of Nashville, Ark.; 13 great-grandchildren, Maddison Horton, Morgan Cole, Emilee Reed, Avery Reed, Tanner Reed, Emslee Reed, Westin Brown, MaKynlee Schelette, Blaine Erwin, Caiden Erwin, Ben Reed, Kate Reed, and Brayley Lowery.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., until service time Monday, Sept. 19, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, with Bro. Keenan Williams officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lee Reed, Justin Schelette, Clint Reed, Derek Reed, Steve Cole, Jason Erwin, Shannon McTire, and Stephen Pack.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sardis Cemetery Association, 7160 Hwy. 278 W., Nashville, AR 71852.
