Andrew Henry Gitchell, age 87, of Mineral Springs, Ark., passed away, Monday Aug. 17, 2020, at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Charlottesville, Va., to the late John David and Allie Omahandra Gitchell. He was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Department as a Forest Ranger III and a pilot. He had served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Gitchell was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Nashville when his health was good. He had served as a church trustee, door greeter and had taught Sunday School. He also was a poultry and cattle farmer; work was his hobby. Most of all he loved his family dearly.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother John David Gitchell, Jr., and his sister, Allie Mary Ownbey.
His survivors include his wife, Ruth Gitchell; children, Andy David Gitchell, Debra Rogers and Janet White; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
