James Edward Jones, 71, of Dierks, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born Dec. 14, 1947, in Nashville, Ark.,s the son of the late James C. Jones and Essie Eudy Jones.
He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, and was a retired United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jones; a brother, Jackie Jones; and a sister, Kathy Johnson.
Survivors include: his brothers, David Jones of Lockesburg, and Mackie Jones of De Queen; a sister, Linda Phelps of Center Point.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, with Bro. Calvin Parker and Bro. J.W. Gilbert officiating Burial followed in Sunshine Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
