William Milton “Billy” Masey passed away in the early hours of April 6, 2019, at the age of 80. He was born on January 27, 1939 in Prescott, Ark., to the late Milton Arthur Masey and Mabel Marable Masey.

Billy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was an elder in the congregation.

He graduated from Nashville High School in 1957.

On April 17, 1959, he married the love of his life, Delores Ann Pearce. Together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Deann and Scarlett.

Along with his father and brother, he owned and operated Masey Pulpwood and Masey Land and Timber for 60 years.

Billy was an avid baseball fan. He enjoyed spending evenings at Wilson Park attending Scrapper baseball games with his grandson. He was also a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. As a teenager and young man, he played for his father’s Nashville Cubs semi-professional baseball team. After his playing career, he enjoyed coaching American Legion teams in Nashville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mabel Masey, and his brother James Masey.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Delores Masey; two daughters, Deann Jones and husband, Jerry, of Nashville, and Scarlett Masey of Little Rock; one sister, Sue White and husband, Randy, of Nashville; one sister-in-law, Sharron Masey of Nashville; one grandson, Jerrad Jones of Nashville; as well as a number of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Services for Mr. Masey will be Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11:00 am at Nashville Funeral Home with Bro. Benjamin Timmons officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.
