Obituary: Rachel Rada-Mae Norman, 19, of Wickes

Rachel Rada-Mae Norman, age 19, of Wickes, Ark., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, in Umpire, Ark.

Rachel was born on Dec. 22, 1999, in Texarkana, Texas, to Tim Norman and Krystel Merworth Norman. Rachel was a student at Rich Mountain School of Cosmetology and also worked at the Chopping Block Restaurant in Mena. She was a very outgoing young lady who enjoyed spending time with friends, singing, shopping and listening to music. Rachel was a cheerleader at Cossatot River High School and was also a talented public speaker, winning awards in FCCLA for her exceptional speaking skills. Rachel was a member of the Wickes Church of Nazarene Teen group helping with Vacation Bible School and other church projects.

Most of all she loved to laugh and make people laugh. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by: her parents, Tim and Krystel Norman of Wickes, Ark.; paternal grandparent, Martha Norman; paternal great-grandparent, Mary Norman; brothers, Jonathan Davidson and wife Rose of Conway, Ark., Nick Reves of Wickes, Vince Norman and wife Jenny of Franklinton, La.; sister, Ashley Ruthardt and husband Deagan of Magnolia; a niece, Brynley Ruthardt of Magnolia, and a niece-on-the-way, McKenna Norman “Fruit of the Womb;” very special friends Kim Gonzalez of Wickes, and Mya Gillaspy, both of Wickes; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by grandparents and great-grandparents, Rocky Norman, Alton Norman, Avo Hubbard, Sam Hubbard, Glen Merworth, Hildred Gray, Hawley Merworth, Rada Merworth, John Briggs and Pearlie Mae Briggs, and her aunt Amanda Merworth.

Funeral service were Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Wickes Elementary Auditorium in Wickes, with Pastor B.J. Jenkins and Brother Thomas Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in the Mineral Cemetery in Gilham, Ark., under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Family and friends visitation was Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood.

Pallbearers were Bryle Fatheree, Clyde Fatheree, Adam Shores, Alex Jenkins, Austin Lyle, Bailey Wise, Ethan Griffin, and Jonathan Rye.
