Don H. Harper, 76 of Nashville, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Shreveport, La., after a short illness.

He was born April 8, 1942 in Murfreesboro, Ark., the son of the late Kelsey and Verna Sharp Harper.

Don was a Vietnam Veteran, and was retired from the Briar Gypsum Plant. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time on his farm. He loved watching old western movies. He was Baptist by faith.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Marie Cogburn; two sisters, Carolyn Oldner and Jean Oldner.

Don is survived by his wife, Betty Harper, of Nashville; son Ricky Harper of Murfreesboro; stepsons Roy Rogers (Anita) of Murfreesboro and Terry McDonald (Jacqueline) of Mineral Springs; stepdaughters Belinda Rogers of Murfreesboro, Ark., and Sheila Hicks (Scott) of Nashville; and one sister, Shirley Anthony of Murfreesboro.  Also, three grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, and Dakota Cogburn of Murfreesboro; five step-grandchildren, Daron Rogers (Brittany) of Delight, Anthony Hicks (Sarah) of Nashville, Terra McDonald of Charleston, S.C., Braden McDonald of Mineral Springs, Aron McDonald (Jemile) of Rogers; four step-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church in Don’s memory, P.O. Box 151, Nashville, AR 71852.

Visitation was Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Nashville Funeral Home. Graveside services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at County Line Cemetery with Bro.
