Obituary: Inez Parsons Smith, 103, of Umpire

Inez Parsons Smith, 103, of Umpire, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.

She was born Dec. 3, 1913, to the late Samuel W. and Nettie L. Gordon Parsons. She was a farmer and homemaker, and a member of the Midway Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Smith; an infant daughter; a son, Ralph Smith; four sisters, Ethel Stacy, Anna McGee, Hazel Ward and Florene Thompson; and two brothers, Cecil Parsons and Jada Parsons.  

Survivors include: a son, Mack Smith and wife, Janet, of Umpire; a daughter, Mary Lou Golden and husband, Royce, of Murfreesboro; three brothers and a sister, Seldon Parsons of Umpire, Maye Davis of Kingston, Okla., Gerald Parsons of Fort Smith, and J.O. Parsons of Texarkana, Texas; also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at  10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, in the Midway Church of Christ with Danny White officiating. Burial followed in the Saline Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29 at the funeral home in Dierks.
