Mr. Garry Cortez Turner, age 65, a resident of Dierks, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, in Nashville, Ark.
He was born Oct. 7, 1951, in Holly Grove, Ark. He was a logger and a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, running dogs, spending time with his grandkids, and watching them play ball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Toy Cortez and Wincel Johnson Turner; his grandparents, Les and Inez Johnson and Cecil and Violet Turner; and two brothers, Thomas “Tinker” Reed and Wayne Turner.
He is survived by: two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Jeremy Kappus, and Kaci and Chase Quinn, all of Dierks; five grandchildren, Blayn Turner, Kayden Turner, Talon Kappus, Karsyn Marshall, and Conner Quinn; one sister, Judy Marshall of Salem, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, in the Greens Chapel Cemetery with Charlie Reel officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2 at the funeral home in Dierks.
