William “Bill” Ray Jones, 77, of Nashville, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1939, the son of the late Cecil Ned and Florence Rector Hedrick Jones.

Mr. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville. He worked for many years as a salesman for Firestone, where he had the major tasks of getting the Firestone stores running efficiently. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Winford Lee “Bud” Jones, C.C. Jones, Paul Jones; two sisters, Nina Ruth Jones Rush, and Annie Lou Jones Stuart.

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Jo Jones of Nashville, Ark.; one son, Billy Ray Jones and wife, Sandra, of Nashville, Ark.; two daughters, Cindy Jones Green of Fayetteville, Ark.; Patti Jones Rivers and husband, Danny, of El Dorado, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Jared Green, Craig Jones, Justin Jones (Casey), David Rivers (Mary El), Catherine Jones Reeves (Nick), Danielle Owens (Bradley), Brock Green, Loredonna Rivers; five great-grandchildren, Warren Jones, Carter Reeves, Ava Jones, Tucker Owens, Teller Owens; and two great-grandchildren on the way. 

Visitation was 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. 

Funeral services were 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18, at the First Baptist Church in Nashville, with Bro. David Blase and Bro. Kevin Sartin officiating. Burial followed at Restland Memorial Park.
