An open house will be held Saturday, June 17, for the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with special remarks and presentation scheduled by Dr. Steve Cole, UA-C chancellor, at 12 noon. Refreshments will be served at 11.
Donations to fund the preservation of the sidewalks and creation of the Lockesburg School District Museum will be accepted during the event.
The Bank of Lockesburg made a substantial donation in 2016 designated for the renovation of the historic gym as part of the college’s Legacy Campaign. The college received a grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council to begin renovations on the gym and the donation made by the Bank of Lockesburg finalized the restoration.
As a result of the bank’s generous donation, the structure was renamed the UA Cossatot Bank of Lockesburg Gymnasium.
