Mary Ann Power, age 69, of Nashville, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in Morganton, North Carolina.

She was born on April 13, 1948, the daughter of the late William Glen Power, Sr., and Mary Lois Jones Power.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville, Ark. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. After receiving her nursing degree she worked for many hospitals and nursing facilities which included Conway Hospital, Howard Memorial Hospital, Mine Creek Nursing, but for the majority of her nursing career was as a nurse for Home Health in Ashdown.  She was also an instructor of nursing at Cossatot College, during this time she was honored by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce as Woman of the Year for her role in the nursing program with Cossatot.

She devoted her whole life in service to others and her family, and spent her time investing in caring for her patients and their needs. As she truly loved caring for people, she also cared for and was an avid animal lover. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Glen Power, Jr.; and Jimmy Earl Power; a sister-in-law, Barbara Power; a nephew, William Paul Power; and a niece, Mary Elizabeth Andrews.

Survivors include: two brothers, Bobby Neal Power (Gail) of Bentonville, Ark., and Danny Power of Morganton, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Ouida Power of Nashville, Ark., and Cheryl Power of Nashville, Ark.; nieces and nephews, Becca Blaine, Virginia Anderson, Greg James, Abby Cobb, Kevin Power, Mark Power, Tonya Gutch, Shannon Czarkowski, Jason Power, Jenny Power Westbrook, and many great-nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. Aunt Mary Ann always made everyone feel extra special.    

Visitation was 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. 

Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, at Bingen-Ozan Cemetery at Bingen, with Bro. David Blase officiating. Arrangements by Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
