Martha Louise Smith, 84, of Dierks, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on March 19, 1933 in Newhope, Ark., the daughter of the late Noel Earl and Marjorie Irene Coffman Rodgers.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Newhope, Ark. She worked for Weyerhauser for many years in Dierks, Ark., retiring in 1990.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 63 years Ben Thomas Smith, and a brother, Thomas Earl Rodgers.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Smith and wife Teresa of Texarkana, Texas, and Alan Smith and wife Laura of De Queen, Ark.; a daughter, Ramona Mascarenas and husband Jimmy of Star of the West, Ark.; a brother, Jimmy Rodgers and wife Gail of Centre, Ala.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. As well as a special friend Evelyn Wimbs of Dierks, Ark.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Fant officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Visitation was 9 a.m. until service time at Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
