The county’s annual observance of Memorial Day will take place on the courthouse lawn at 11 a.m. Monday, May 29.

Memorial Day honors the memory of those who died in military service during wartime. Names of county residents who died in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan are etched into the granite marker.

Veterans generally assemble in ranks in front of the marker for a brief ceremony. The public is invited.
