Don William Craig, age 84, of Board Camp, Arkansas died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mt. Ida. He was born on Sunday, February 19, 1933 to William Marvin and Alma Looney Craig in Board Camp, Arkansas.

Don was an active member of the Board Camp Baptist Church and served in the United States Air Force as well as the Army Air Corp. He believed in hard work and always paying your debts. Don’s way of life and his wife, Linda, were most important to him. Don was on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors for over 40 years and held a place on the Polk County Welfare Board. He was a cattleman for most of his life, though in his earlier days he spent summers installing windows in skyscrapers in Houston, Texas. Don liked riding his horse, but loved cattle auctions and working a stock dog and one of his proudest accomplishments was buying his land in Board Camp. Don was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Craig of Board Camp, Arkansas; two sons and daughter in law, Dale and Charlotte Craig of Board Camp, and Stanley and Laurie Craig of Mena; one sister, Joy Mae Thompson of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Clint Craig of Odessa,Texas, Dustin Craig and wife Shanda of Board Camp, Paige Craig of Board Camp, Alexa Graves and husband Lucas of Mena, and Ashton Herod and husband Adam of Mena; seven great grandchildren, Macey, Maddox, Olive, Willow, Blaze, Jolee, and Marcus; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Board Camp Baptist Church with Brother Bret Lee officiating with interment following at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena. A visitation will also be held Monday at the Board Camp Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Services are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.

Pallbearers will be James Stanley, Frankie Davis, Travis Ross, Brandon Hemphill, Ladale Toon, Jerry Hansbrough, Danny Hansbrough, and Dewayne Bowling. Honorary pallbearers will be the Polk County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the Board Camp Fire House Coffee Group.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Board Camp Baptist Church Building Fund, 107 Polk 63, Mena, AR 71953.
