Mary “Nana” Sanchez, age 70, of Mount Ida, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017.
She was born on September 15, 1946 in Tyler, Texas, the daughter of Aureliano Sanchez and Angelita Conde Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Jesse Sanchez, Sonny Sanchez, Dale Sanchez and Cecilio Sanchez.
She was a member of the Jesus Name Peace Tabernacle where she loved to play the guitar and sing praises to her Lord. She enjoyed being with her great-nieces and great-nephews and her family always knew her as a true prayer warrior.
She is survived by four brothers, Alex Sanchez, Rudy Sanchez and Joe Sanchez, all of Pine Bluff, and Billy Sanchez of Lexington, Kentucky; seven sisters, Rosie Rodriguez of Holland, Michigan, Betty Cunningham and Lila Roberts, both of White Hall, Maggie Roberts of Pine Bluff, Carmen Robinson and Della Knapp, both of Prague and Dora Stump of Pine Bluff; and her nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in the Jesus Name Peace Tabernacle with Bro. David Whitmire officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the church.
Interment will be in Mount Ida Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Billy Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Rudy Sanchez, Joe Sanchez, John Phillips and Blake Phillips.
Honorary pallbearer will be Chico Sanchez.
