Josephine Griswold 101, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 in Nashville, Ark. She was born on March 15, 1915 in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of the late Anton and Annie Merka.
Mrs. Griswold was a member of the Northview Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt. She lived most of her life in Galveston, Texas, before moving back to Bryan, Texas, in the 1980’s. In 2014 she was moved to Nashville, Ark., where she remained until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years, Gilbert Griswold; three brothers, Antone Merka, August Merka and Martin Merka; four sisters, Olga Eubanks, Janie Vincent, Mary Dobrovolny and Martha Godwin.
Survivors include: her nephew, Neal Godwin, Jr., and wife Ollie of Nashville, Ark., as well as a number of nieces and nephews in Texas
There will be a private burial at Smetana Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
