Houston S. Parker, 89 of Dierks, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 in Dierks.
He was born Aug. 28, 1927 in Center Point, to the late Fred Parker, Sr. and Patra Seymour Parker.
He was a retired security guard for Weyerhaeuser and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Parker, and a brother, Donnie Parker.
Survivors include: his wife, Effie Parker of Dierks; three children, Judy Coleman and husband, Steve, of Dierks, Calvin Parker and wife, Betty, of Dierks, and Sherry Crews and husband, David, of Prescott; two brothers, Fred Parker, Sr., of Nashville, Wayne Parker of Nashville; three sisters, Lavon Reed of Dierks, Joyce Sharp of Dierks, and Carolyn Edmond of Murfreesboro; also grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with J.W. Gilbert and Calvin Parker officiating. Interment followed in Sunshine Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. Send the family an online sympathy message to nashvillefh.com.
