Elaine Cottrell, age 70, of Glenwood, passed from this life Friday, December 2, 2016.

She was born on June 11, 1946, in Stratford, Oklahoma, the daughter of O. H. Hinkle and Virginia Wood Hinkle. She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Lynn Cottrell and Keith Wayne Cottrell; her parents; two brothers, Lewis Hinkle and Willard Hinkle; and one sister, Lela Blankenship.

She was the Pastor’s wife of Trinity Holiness Church in Glenwood for 45 years. She was an excellent homemaker and given to hospitality. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years and 4 days, Bro. Sammy Cottrell of Glenwood; three sons and daughters- in-law, Murvel and Andrea Cottrell, Tharold and Gretchen Cottrell and Tony and Heather Cottrell, all of Glenwood; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Aaron Burnett of Cunningham, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Diana Cottrell Taylor and her husband, Joey, of Seymour, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewayne and Joyce Hinkle and Melvin and Phyllis Hinkle; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lola Spikes and Audie and Charles Fisher, all of Stratford, Oklahoma; several in-laws, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Sammy Cottrell, Bro. Aaron Burnett, Bro. David Perry and Bro. Mark Compton officiating.

Interment was in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers were Dewayne Cottrell, Trendon Burnett, Andrew Cottrell, David Burnett, Samuel Burnett, Johnny Wayne Cottrell, Josiah Burnett, Trevor Cottrell and Trey Cottrell.

Honorary pallbearers were the Ladies-in-waiting, Sister Kathy McGrew, Sister Shirley Lester, Sister Carrisa Metcalf, Sister Camille Pugh, Sister Gwen Cottrell, Sister Casey Grant and Sister Naomi Webb.
