Tony Dowdy, age 56, of Caddo Gap, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
He was born on March 26, 1960, at Murfreesboro, the son of Robert Alford Dowdy and Imogene Frances Miller Dowdy. He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Kevin Dowdy and Greg Dowdy.
Tony was a graduate of Southern Arkansas University where he received his degree in nursing. He was a registered nurse and worked in the fields of home health and dialysis. He was a Baptist in his faith, loved visiting with people and telling stories. He enjoyed riding horses, whittling, collecting antique bottles, memorabilia and arrowheads.
He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Tara Dowdy Baker of Grand Junction, Colorado and Emma and Slade Bissell of Spring Hill; one grandson, Tollie Bis- sell; his mother, Imogene Dowdy of Texarkana, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Allen Kirkpatrick of Texarkana, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Trent and Carolyn Dowdy of Cherino, Texas; five nieces and nephews, Ashlee and Hayden Kirkpatrick and Trevin, Jordan and Rusty Dowdy.
Services were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Walter Graham and Chaplin Mark Miller officiating.
Visitation was Friday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Fancy Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Miller, Randy Miller, Dean Miller, Steve Miller, Tommy Dowdy, Jodi Dowdy, Terry Avery and Hayden Kirkpatrick.
