Detailed Montgomery County 2016 election results by precinct

Montgomery County followed state and national trends in most of the decisions made in this years election, with the county helping to elect Donald Trump as the new President of the United States of America. They also voted to elect John Maddox to replace outgoing State Representative Nate Bell.
The ballot positions to fill federal positions held no surprises with Republicans being chosen to fill all three positions. Trump carried the county with 74.26 percent of the vote while Hillary Clinton garnered 21.02 percent.
Senator John Boozman and Congressman Bruce Westerman each held on to their respective seats with Boozman receiving 68.13 percent of the vote in Montgomery County and Westerman receiving 81.24 percent of the vote in his election.
John Maddox, a Republican, defeated Independent candidate Henry T. Nielson with 80.87 percent of the vote in Montgomery County.
Of the four state ballot issues which passed, Issue Six was the only one that didn’t carry Montgomery County. Issue Six, commonly known as the medical marijuana act, fell short in the county with 51.82 percent of county voters rejected the plan. The Issue passed with the stated approving it with 53 percent of the vote.
On the local level Mount Ida Treasurer Carlyn Hall held off opponent Lillian Farmer to win the election with 58.81 percent of the vote.
In Glenwood elections Billy Plyler received 60.71 percent of the vote among Montgomery County voters, but was unable to hold off John R. Powell who won the Alderman position held by Plyler.
Early voting was strong with over 1500 ballots cast.
