Gerald David Dowdle, age 81, of Delight, passed from this life on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 5, 1935 in Delight, the son of the late Curtis Adelbert and Mary Hill Dowdle. Gerald was a retired construction worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Delight. He enjoyed camping, fishing, horseback riding and attending horse shows. Gerald liked to watch western movies and meeting for coffee with his friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Glenn Howard Dowdle, and one son, David Dowdle.
Survivors are two sons, Don (Debra) Dowdle of Fayetteville, Danny Dowdle of Delight, two brothers, Bob (Norma) Dowdle of Malvern and Leon (Virginia) Dowdle of Texarkana, Texas, two sisters, Lyda Jo Canteberry and Joy (Bobby) McLemore both of El Dorado, eight grandchildren Dustin, Devin, Chase, Zachary, Courtney, Alex, Jonathan and Andrea, nine great grandchildren, and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Delight with Rev. Verlon Wood officiating. Interment will be in Delight Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the funeral home.
