Junior Scrappers run streak to 52 with Fairview win

CAMDEN – The Nashville Junior Scrappers (5-0) took a 20-0 lead at halftime and added 20 more points in the second half to defeat Camden Fairview 40-0 Oct. 6.

With the win, the Scrappers extended their winning streak to 51 games.

Jakobi Jefferson ran the ball in from 8 yards out for Nashville’s first score with 4:47 left in the first quarter. Noe Hernandez kicked the first of 4 PATs.

Caiden Erwin scored 3 minutes later on a 72-yard pass from Lance Easter.

Carmillias Morrison scored the next Scrapper TD on a 28-yard run with 5:29 left in the second quarter. The PAT was no good.

Jefferson scored twice in the third quarter. The first came with 4:32 left in the quarter on a 14-yard run. His other scored came as time expired in the quarter on a 72-yard run.

Nashville wrapped up the scoring midway through the fourth quarter on a 51-yard run by Morrison.

Easter completed 4 of 8 passes against the Cardinals for 111 yards and 1 touchdown. He also ran the ball 5 times for 49 yards.

Jefferson had 3 carries for 94 yards and 3 TDs. Morrison ran the ball 8 times for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Erwin was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Lott had 1 reception for 21 yards.

Nashville put up 386 yards total offense, including 275 rushing and 111 passing.

The Scrappers held Fairview to 71 total yards.

For the season to date, the Scrappers are averaging 43.4 points per game while giving up 5.2 points per game.

Easter has completed 17 of 32 passes for 323 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. He’s run the ball 32 times for 445 yards and 9 TDs.

Morrison has 34 catches for 480 yards and 7 touchdowns. Jefferson has 19 carries for 565 yards and 9 TDs.

Lott has 3 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. Witherspoon has 2 catches for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jefferson has a 12-yard catch for a TD.

Basiliere has 5 receptions for 49 yards. Morrison has 2 catches for 11 yards. Jefferson has 1 reception for 12 yards and a touchdown.

The Scrappers have 1,855 yards total offense so far for 371 yards per game. They’ve given up 353 total yards for 70.6 per game.

Nashville will host Ashdown Thursday at 7 p.m. The eighth grade game will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Eighth grade

The eighth grade Scrappers defeated Fairview 25-16.

Nashville scored first on a 25-yard pass from Ty Gordon to Caiden Erwin with 3:27 left in the first quarter. Jhonny Pioquinto’s PAT attempt was no good. Erwin’s TD was the only scoring in the first half.

Fairview took the lead briefly in the third quarter on a 10-yard scoring pass. The Cardinals ran for the 2-point conversion and an 8-6 lead.

The Scrappers came back with 5 seconds left in the quarter on a 22-yard run by Gordon.

Nashville scored with 3:47 to go in the game on a 2-yard pass from Gordon to Keyshawn Stewart. Nineteen seconds later, the Scrappers scored again on a 28-yard pass from Gordon to Erwin.

Fairview rounded out the scoring on a 19-yard pass for the final margin of 25-16 Nashville.

Gordon completed 5 of 9 passes for 82 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was also the leading rusher with 14 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Stewart had 6 carries for 29 yards, and Garland had 3 carries for 10 yards.

Erwin was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Stewart had 1 catch for 2 yards and a touchdown.

The Scrappers had 230 yards total offense, including 148 rushing and 82 passing.

Fairview had 211 total yards.
