The annual gathering of the Caddo Valley Academy and Norman High School alumni and friends is this Friday and Saturday, October 21-22
The high school building will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m on Saturday.
Coffee and refreshments will be served both mornings, with a full meal being prepared and served Saturday at 12:15 p.m..  Donations are welcomed.
The business meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by updates and entertainment by Mike Lokey and Alison Waggoner.
The high school building was purchased from the owner by a group of former students of Caddo Valley Academy, a private Presbyterian run school – the only certified high school in Montgomery County from 1924 – 1930, and alumni of Norman High School, which was closed in 1972 when Norman and Caddo Gap schools consolidated.
A 501c3 corporation was formed in 2001 and a loan for $100,000 was taken out to pay for it and for a new roof, signed by former students who had faith that the building could be saved.  Work has been ongoing since that time.
Within the past year and a half two bathrooms, an ADA ramp and lighting in the downstairs halls have been installed.  Improvements have also been made to the former home economics building to make it suitable for use by the visitors and for community activities.
