Mr. Jimmy Long 81, of McCaskill, Ark., passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Jimmy was born May 23, 1935 in McCaskill, Ark., to Floyd and Verda York Long.
He was a longtime dedicated employee of Blevins Public Schools, Blevins, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; wife, Dixie Long; sisters, Bobbie Nell Womack and Avril DeWitt.
Mr. Long is survived by his sons, Johnny Long of McCaskill, Ark., and David Long of Hope, Ark.; daughter, Julie Hardy and husband Glenn of Blevins, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Julie Long of Antoine, Ark.; brothers, Edward Long of Dallas, Texas, and Leon Long of Brownsboro, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla Nutt and husband Jordan, Matthew Hardy and Christian Long; great grandchild, Colton Nutt.
Visitation was Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home, 403 South Main, Hope, Ark.
Services were Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in Friendship Methodist Church, McCaskill, Ark. Interment followed in Friendship Cemetery, McCaskill, Ark., under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home, 403 South Main, Hope, Ark.
