NJHS streak hits 50 games

The Nashville Junior Scrappers’ winning streak now stands at 50 games.

The Scrappers reached the half-century mark with a 47-0 District 7-4A win over Bauxite Thursday night at Scrapper Stadium. The streak began with the last two games of the 2010 season.

Jacobe Jefferson opened the Scrapper scoring with a 90-yard touchdown run with 4:57 left in the first quarter. He added another score later in the quarter on a 37-yard run. Noe Hernandez kicked the extra point.

The second quarter saw Carmillias Morrison score on a 30-yard run. Nashville wrapped up the first half with a 20-0 lead.

The Scrappers put up 3 touchdowns in the third quarter. Morrison scored on a 22-yard run. Lance Easter ran the ball 38 yards for a touchdown, and Jefferson carried the ball 81 yards for a score.

The final TD of the night came on a 5-yard run by Morrison in the fourth quarter.

Easter was 1-1 passing for 8 yards on a completion to Basiliere.

Jefferson ran the ball 5 times for 273 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Morrison had 8 carries for 103 yards and 3 TDs.

Easter carried 6 times for 98 yards and a touchdown.

The Scrappers ran the ball 19 times for 482 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Eighth grade

The eighth grade Scrappers defeated Bauxite 42-0. They jumped out to a 29-0 lead at halftime and added 2 more scores in the third quarter.

Ty Gordon completed 5 of 9 passes for 139 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Erwin was the leading receiver with 2 catches for 75 yards and 2 TDs.

Hendrix had 1 catch for 8 yards and a score. Pope had 1 catch for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Gordon was the leading rusher with 5 carries for 98 yards and a TD.

Garland had 7 carries for 84 yards, followed by Hanson with 3 rushes for 24 yards an Scoggins with 1 carry for 22 yards.

The junior Scrappers will host Fountain Lake Thursday at 7 p.m.

The eighth graders will play at 5:30 p.m.
