Indians open cross country season with pair of first place finishes

The Caddo Hills Indians and Lady Indians got off to a great start to their cross country track season with wins in the girls’ 3,200m run and the boys’ 5,000 meter run at the Fort Smith cross country invitational meet.
Abby West kicked things off for Caddo Hills with a first place finish in the girls’ 3,200m run. She finished the meet in 14:32.46.
Other Lady Indian competitors include: Taylor Allen (6th place – 15:49.10), Nallely Lopez (11th place – 16:40.67) and Kimberly Gonzalez (22nd place – 18:52.03)
In the boys’ division Indian competitors included: Ian McDowell (54th place – 18:26.32), Andrew West (55th place – 19:22.42), Raul Ortiz (57th place – 23:18.69), Landan Pittman (59th place – 29:16.73) and Stone Crawford (60th place – 30:36.45)
Jordan Foster earned a victory in the boys’ 5,000m run with a blistering pace of 18:21.83.
David Gonzalez finished seventh with a time of 19:58.70. Josh Qualls finished 23rd (25:37.58) and Andy Jackson finished 31st (30:13.62) and Dakota Oxford finished 32nd (32:09.21).
Ruth Gonzalez finished 15th in the girls’ 5,000m run with a time of (31:13.92).
