Harold Dwayne Davis - FoldersHarold Dwayne Davis, age 74, of Dierks, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1941, in Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Farley Davis; his father, Oscar Davis; his mother, Dorothy Davis Pinkerton; his stepfather, Ray Pinkerton; his brother, Lynn Davis; and his step-grandchild, Cameron Bearden.

He received his Master’s in Theology from Louisiana Baptist University and his Doctorate of Theology from the Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.  He was a member of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where he led Wednesday night Bible study.  He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and playing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Davis of Dierks; two children and their spouses, Cindy and Steve Martin of Dierks and Tony and Pam Davis of Newhope; four stepchildren and their spouses, Stephanie and Butch Brown of Dierks, Brian and Amy Bearden of Nashville, Denise and Mike Musgrave of Nashville and Matthew and Kim Bearden of Hope; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Owens of Glenwood and Pat Anderson of Meridian, Idaho; two brothers, Ermine Thomas Davis of Meridian, Idaho and Johnny Davis of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Gary Welch, Bro. Don Youngblood and Bro. Kevin Jewell officiating.

Visitation was Saturday, 6-8 p.m. Interment was in the Bissell Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Trey Shelton, Joey Davis, Brad Martin, Brady Martin, Dillon Semmler and Ben Martin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hatton Baptist Church, 1072 Hwy. 278 E., Wickes, AR 71973.
