After having an appeal denied last week by the state Board of Education concerning the Mineral Springs High School’s designation of being in academic distress, the Mineral Springs School District has filed more legal action against the state board and the Arkansas Department of Education.

A petition for an administrative appeal was filed Thursday in Pulaski County, where the state board recently denied the district’s appeal, on the school district’s behalf by attorneys Omavi Shukur and John W. Walker.

See next week’s Nashville News-Leader for more about the appeal.
