Myra Jean Martindale was born on Nov. 16, 1929 in Texarkana, Texas, to Fred and Minnie Tanner. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Pflugerville, Texas on July 23, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hicks Martindale, her parents, Fred and Minnie Tanner, sisters Melba Lorance, Marjorie McKnight, and Betty Jo Campbell; brother Pete Tanner.
Survivors include: daughters Gail Yarbrough and her husband, Dale, of Austin, Texas; Bobbie Whitwell and her husband, Andy, of Pflugerville, Texas; granddaughter Jennifer Whitwell of Austin, Texas; grandson, Joshua Whitwell and his wife, Robin Ray, of Pflugerville, Texas; great grandchildren Ryder Pearson and Reese Pearson of Austin, Texas; Gryphon Ray-Whitwell of Pflugerville, Texas; a sister-in-law Isabelita Glasgow and her husband, Randy, of Waldron, Ark. Numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jean’s special friends, Clay and Brenda Hester, Justin Jones, Billy Ray Jones, and her beloved fur-baby, Girl.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28 at Bingen-Ozan Cemetery at Bingen under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
