Frank Odell McJunkins, Sr., 90 of Saratoga, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born May 24, 1926 in Saratoga, Ark., to the late Wayne and Maggie Odell McJunkins. He was a retired machinist with Holman Cement. He was a Navy veteran of WWII participating in five major battles in the Pacific, receiving the following campaign ribbons: American Campaign Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign with two Bronze Stars, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a Master Mason. He was a member of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by five siblings: Lydia Walker, Cora Mae Bell, Gordon McJunkins, Leland McJunkins, and Richard McJunkins; also, a grandson.

Survivors include: his wife of more than 67 years, Anita Green McJunkins of Saratoga; two children, Margaret Y. Fontaine and husband, Marshall (Buddy), of Saratoga, and Frank McJunkins, Jr., and wife, Kim, of Saratoga; a brother, Thomas McJunkins of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Jane Yniquez of Sunnyvale, Texas; also grandchildren, including Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins, and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Mineral Springs Church of Christ with Benjamin Neeley and Rick Bell officiating. Arrangements were by Nashville Funeral Home. Send the family an online sympathy message to nashvillefh.com.
