Thomas Newton Reed passed away on May 1, 2016. He was born August 30, 1927 in the small community of Sardis, Arkansas (near Nashville) to William and Frances Tollett Reed.  He is survived by his wife, Lucille West Reed; daughters, Debbie (Jim) Brown and Sheri (Frank) Harper; five grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Centers, Sarah (Drew) Sims, Lyndi (Shawn) Jones, Amanda Harper (fiancé Kyle Oltman), and Ashlie (Nick) Perry; eight great-grandchildren, Avery, Alexa, and Isabella Centers; Carter, Chase, and Cameron Sims; Carson and Corbin Jones; two brothers, Troy (the late Betty) and Reuben (JoJo) Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  Proceeding him in death were his brother, Alford and his son-in-law, Stanley Centers. He was a faithful member and long time Deacon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 8645 Kenwood Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242 where visitation was held on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM until the funeral at 11:00 AM with Pastor Lance Cunningham presiding.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church benevolent fund or the American Heart Association. Services under the direction of Strawser Funeral Home, Cincinnati, Ohio.
