NASHVILLE – The Nashville Police Department would like to inform residents that a convicted sex offender from Wisconsin may be in the local area. Seventy-two-year-old Michael Belleau is compliant in Wisconsin and is not wanted by authorities at this time. Police just want to inform residents that Belleau may be in the area and has not checked in with the police department.
Belleau was convicted in 1992 for repeatedly molesting a boy starting in 1987, when the victim was 8. While on probation for that offense, he was convicted of assaulting a 9-year-old girl in 1988 and sentenced in 1994 to 10 years in prison, then paroled in 2000.
The parole was revoked in 2001 after Belleau had contact with two young girls and admitted he would likely have molested them if he’d had an opportunity. He was returned to prison.
At the end of his sentence in 2005, he was committed under Chapter 980 and is now monitored by lifetime GPS tracking.
