Mr. James Lee Davis, age 64, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born to James Dickey and Dorothy Jean Yancey Davis in Harrisburg, Arkansas, on February 1, 1952.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U. S. Army. He was a logger, owner of Davis Appliance and HVAC. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Lockesburg, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, gardening, watching John Wayne movies and westerns, and cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Larry Wayne Davis. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Lynne King Davis of Lockesburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Regina and Craig Grubbs of De Queen, and Cassie and Mark Schroer of Lockesburg; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonothan Lee Davis of Lockesburg, Thomas Jefferson Davis of Lockesburg, Jaymes Quentin Davis and Shena Carver of Lockesburg, Sgt. Stephen Louis Davis of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Malachi Isaac Davis of Lockesburg; ten grandchildren, Bradley and Meghan Grubbs, Haley Grubbs Madden, Noah Davis Grubbs, Gabriel Grubbs, Kaydence Schroer, Layne Schroer, Jedidiah Schroer, Willow Schroer, Jayson Davis and Elijah Davis; three great-grandchildren, Braelyn and Ayden Madden, and Maci Grubbs; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl William and Corine Davis of Lewisville, Floyd Lavelle and Debbie Davis of Nashville, Kenneth Morris and Rose Mary Davis of Durant, Oklahoma, Daniel Ray and Stephanie Davis of Centerpoint; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis Ann and Brian Foster of Texarkana and Mary Alice Bland of Doby Springs, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. James Davis will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Lockesburg Church of Christ with Joe May, minister officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lockesburg, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas, on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
