No bond has been set for a man with an unusual name and a Hope address who was arrested for possessing more than eight pounds of marijuana, Monday.
Melchizedek L. Shabazz, 45, black male, was stopped for a traffic violation by county deputy Joey Davis. The stop led to the discovery of 28 zipper containers and some trash bags containing varying amounts of marijuana in the car trunk.
Shabazz’s vehicle was impounded. Assisting in the inventory of contraband was county investigator Blake Eudy.
Shabazz has been charged with possession of controlled substance with purpose of delivery.
