“The First Saturday in May” is reserved for the annual Peach Blossom Festival in Nashville, and this year the event includes food, music, rides, vehicle exhibitions and homemade peach ice cream.

The May 7 event opens at 9 a.m., and will be spread along three blocks of downtown Nashville, blocked off for the occasion.

American Idol contestant Ethan Kuntz will perform.

The Relay for Life will sponsor the car, truck and motorcycle show, and prizes will be awarded. The Rusty Relics Antique Tractor Club will have many restored tractors on display.

There will also be a 5K run with all entry proceeds going to the Howard County Foster Parent Association.

For information about entering shows, races or to get a vendor booth, contact the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, 870-845-1262.

There will be a number of attractions for children including bounce houses and miniature train rides.

Food items expected include BBQ, fried pies, snow cones and “homemade” peach ice cream made from last year’s peaches, according to chamber executive director Mike Reese.
