Risner papersClara Risner, age 72, of Newhope, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born on October 7, 1943, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Hester Matthew Davis and Rosie Neoma Chambers Davis.  On November 2, 1962, she was married to Roy C. Risner. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Helen Ravan and Betty Simmons.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church. A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband, Roy Risner of Newhope; two daughters, Tina McBay and her husband, Ricky, of Newhope and Rashael Risner of Dierks; five grandchildren, Amanda Reid, Teslee Icenhower, Sydney Icenhower, Brent McBay and Eric McBay; two great-grandchildren, Jaselyn Sirmon and Layla Sirmon; one brother, Tony Davis of Langley; two sisters, Phyllis Howard and Pam Shook, both of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Kenny Fant officiating.
Visitation was Saturday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment followed in Langley Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wallace Turner, Dale Looney, Gary Risner, Larry Risner, Steve Risner and Kenny Risner. Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Risner, Keith Risner and David Langley. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
