Viola Lavelle Corbell Caldwell, age 76 of Nashville, formerly of Mineral Springs, passed went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Nashville. She was born July 21, 1939 in Mineral Springs to the late Whitten Eric and Gladys Reval Cassady Corbell.
Lavelle was a home maker and a faithful member of the New Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a devoted Sunday School Teacher for the children of the church for many years. She loved children and teaching them in church, she had also been the church secretary as well. She was a loving mother, housewife, grandmother, and great grandmother, and was a very good babysitter. She loved to work in her yard, tending to her flowers.
Preceding her in death other than her parents was a son, Tommy Caldwell and her brother, “Buzz” Darwin Corbell. Her survivors include her best friend and the love of her life, her husband of over 58 years, Edward Caldwell of Mineral Springs; one son, James and wife, Sherri Caldwell of Mineral Springs; one daughter, Wendy and husband, Ricky Kerns of Mineral Springs; one sister, Frances Paider of Texas; six grandchildren, Ashley and husband, Tim Neal, Dustin Caldwell, and Brittney Caldwell all of Anderson, Indiana, David Mattox of Murfreesboro, Deanna and husband, Chase Williamson of Mineral Springs, and Erica and husband, Jay Hawthorne of Mineral Springs; 10 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabella, Jade, Alex, Lydia, Peter, Chloe, Cayden, Georgiana, and Jayson; and a large host of other family and friends. Services will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at New Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. David Raulerson officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. Her pallbearers will be Chuck Tallman, R. Jay Hawthorne, Chase Williamson, Floyd Roberts, Seth Roberts and John Reese.
