Police stand off ends in arrest

    An armed standoff ended in one arrest Friday afternoon after law enforcement officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Old Caddo Gap Road.
    According to Montgomery County Sheriff David White officers were dispatched to a residence on Old Caddo Gap Road after receiving information regarding a domestic disturbance around 3 p.m.
    When officers arrived they were confronted by a man allegedly armed with two rifles. Sheriff White stated that after officers arrived the suspect, identified as Carlis Fant, fled into a wooded area near the residence.
    Sheriff White stated that MCSO deputy Chad Davis entered the wooded area and disarmed Fant who was placed under arrest.
    The stand off lasted approximately 45 minutes according to Sheriff White.
    Sheriff White stated that several local, state and federal officers assisted in the incident.
