    The Nashville News was recently honored with a total of 17 awards, as well as a Sweepstakes award at the Arkansas Press Association Better Newspaper Advertising conference held at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute near Petit Jean on March 10-11. A total of 8 papers submitted a total of 113 entries in the smaller weeklies category.
    1st place awards were Single Ad over 10” and under half page, Dixie Belle Chalk – Special Moments, Best Multiple advertisers – Armchair Quarterback Challenge, Special Section – A Legacy of Success, Farm Family, Special Section – Sports, Special Section Cover – Dierks Pine Tree Festival, Best Use of Original Photo – Spring Kickoff at Wild Ivy, Best Use of Clip Art – Tyson Scrapper Chicken, Best Newspaper Promotion – Back to School Subscription, Best Special Event & Festival – Peach Blossom Festival.
    2nd place awards were Best Multiple Advertiser – National Nursing Home Week, Best Use of Process Color – Jeanine’s Fine Jewelry, Special Section – Back to School, Best Use of Clip Art – Music in Our Schools Month, Most Original Idea – Ivan Smith, Ladies What are you hunting for?
    3rd place awards were Best Use of Clip Art – Morris Litter Service, Best Use Newspaper Promotion – See Us Online, Best Automotive Display – York Gary, Sweet Sixteen Deals.
