gallery photoA love for art and the joy of seeing others have fun has fueled Marlene Germillion’s desire to teach for a number of years.
She enjoys working with a variety of subjects and enjoys using different mediums and learned techniques. She admits that making art enjoyable and fun as one is being creative are her goals as she teaches.
“If you are not enjoying what you create it will show in your work.  Of course, you must do your homework to learn to handle the medium you want to work in.  The more you paint and / or create the more you improve.  It is a learned process not just talent alone.” She stated.
Germillion recently conducted a workshop at the Ouachita Artists Gallery where she shared her years of experience with those in attendance.
She is involved in conducting workshops locally and in surrounding areas. She is a registered instructor with the Arkansas Arts Council “Arts on Tour”.  She is a signature member of Mid–Southern Watercolorists-Diamond Status, Louisiana Watercolor Society and Arkansas Pastel Society. She is also a member of the Ouachita Artists Guild.
Germillion, a resident of Hot Springs Village, is the current featured artist at the Ouachita Artists Gallery in Mount Ida.
A reception will be held in her honor Sunday, March 13 from 1-3 p.m. at the Ouachita Artists Gallery located on the square in Mount Ida at 135 South West Street.
