MOUNT IDA – The Mount Ida  bats were finding their target often as the Lions rolled to a 15-2 win over Acorn Monday.
Freshman Pitcher Cade Jackson struggled in the opening inning, giving up two runs without the benefit of a hit. Jackson gave up four bases on balls, but was able to get out of the inning with three strike outs. Kobe Hogan led off with a walk and Daniel Cotrell reached first on an error. Both would score.
T.J. Wilson led off the bottom half of the first with a walk and stole second and third before scoring the lone Lion run of the inning.
Jackson settled down in the second inning, facing only four batters. The Mount Ida offense followed suit, scoring seven runs in their side of the second inning to take an 8-2 lead.
Johnathan Lagrange and Hayden Bishop opened the second inning with back to back hit batsmen. Austin McAdoo reached on an error. Drew Allen recorded the first hit of the day for Mount Ida. All four batters, along with Wilson, Jesse Lowry and Cody Robertson went on to score in the inning.
Bishop led off the bottom of the third with a hit. He stole second base and went on to score the lone run of the inning.
The Lions scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a commanding 15-2 lead. They held Acorn scoreless in the top of the fifth inning, ending the game by way of the sportsmanship rule.
TJ Wilson had a double and three walks while scoring three runs and recording three RBIs. Jesse Lowry had two hits, including a double, one run and two RBIs. Cody Robertson had a hit and a run and one hit batsman. Johnathan Legrange had a single, a hit batsman and two runs.

Hayden Bishop had a single and was hit twice by a pitch. He scored three runs.
Austin McAdoo was hit by a pitch and scored two runs. Drew Allen had one hit, onewalk, one run and a strike out. Landon Summerkorn had a double, a run scored and was hit by a pitch. Cade Jackson had a sac bunt and a strike out.
Jackson earned the win without giving up a hit. He recorded 11 strike outs and nine hits in five innings of work.
