Jessie Ray Pickrell, age 58, of Pike City, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016. He was born on January 14, 1958, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of William Earl Pickrell and Nida Louise Ivy Pickrell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timmy Ray Pickrell; and his brother, Robert Pickrell. He was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Murfreesboro Nursing Center. He loved hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Jessie Ann Pickrell Barbre of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Tyler Barbre, Anthony Barbre, Trunks Hawthorne, and Shrone Hawthorne; four step-children, Clint Pickrell, Codie Smith, Colby Smith, and Cole Larson, all of Murfreesboro; two brothers, William Pickrell and his wife, Pam, of Pike City and Bobby Pickrell and his wife, Lorie, of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Donna McMurrian of Glenwood and Loretta Parker and her husband, Tommy, of Pike City; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016, in the Pike City Cemetery with Bro. Steve Franklin officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 1:30 p.m. until service time, at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
