Roy Dale Johnson was born August 18, 1954 to William and Virginia Johnson in Nashville, Arkansas. He departed this life on Sunday February 14, 2016 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville. Arkansas.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Virginia Jordan-Johnson; brother, William Earl Johnson; and sister, Rita Lynn Johnson.
Roy grew up in the St. John community. He attended Nashville Childress school. Then later in life, he became a part of Howard County Children Center (HCCC) where he enjoyed the work activity program. Roy was a most caring and kind person. He was known to call and extend a helping hand to those close to him. Where he was affectionately called “Taxi Man”.
While at HCCC he met and married his best friend and the love of his life Cynthia.
He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his passing, loving wife of 15 years Cynthia Wesson-Johnson; step-son, Terrance Wesson; father, William Johnson; sisters, Bobby Thomas of Compton California, Cynthia (Larry) Marlow, Patricia Johnson, both of Nashville and Lenoria (Gregg) of Little Rock, Jackie Johnson and Shirley both of Hope; brothers, Clifford (Joyce) Johnson, Wilburt (Brenda) Johnson, Ronnie (Sandra) Johnson, and Donnie Johnson; aunts, Mary Crofton and Vernice Johnson; uncles, Clark (Louise) Jordan and LeRoy Johnson; four sisters-in-law, Linda Snell, Shelia, Regina, and Kay Wesson; brothers-in-law, Dennis, Henry, and Donald Wesson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 am. at Dodson Street Church of Christ with Pastor Dedron Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in St. John cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
