Mrs. Ottlean Spencer West was born March 18, 1921 in Foreman, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Emma Gilmere Spencer.  God decided to give her rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home in Nashville, Arkansas at the age of 94. She attended school at Yerger and Howard County Training Center.  Aunt Lena had aspirations of becoming a doctor. Aunt Lena accepted Christ at an early age.  She loved to cook and bake all kind of cakes and pies for her community and church. She moved to Chicago in the late 50’s, where she met and married the love of her life the late Edgar West.  No children were born to this union. October 13, 2008, she was moved back to Arkansas to live with her niece, Joyce Johnson until she departed this life. Preceded in death by husband, Edgar West; both parents; sister, Inez Combs; four brothers, Mack Spencer, Clearance Spencer, Uradell Spencer and John Shellin. She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing, nieces, Mamie Ford of Dallas, Texas, Gertha Spencer Peoples of Nashville, Wanda Spencer Briggs of Texarkana, Texas, Rasheeda Spencer Hanum of Aurora, Colorado and Joyce (Clifford) Johnson of Nashville; nephews, Mack Spencer, Jr of Wichita, Kansas, Thomas Spencer of Texarkana, Curtis Spencer of Hope, Alvin Spencer of Quitman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 21 at Spiritually Discerned Cemetery in Nashville.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
