Crews began tearing the roof of of the “old” Ward Shop on Main Street in Murfreesboro last week. The building has been a long standing landmark in the community and has housed several businesses over the years. Greg Martin, owner of Em’s Cafe, said that although he hates to see the building go, the demolition will bring additional parking for the restaurant and provide room for the construction of a future business that will bring jobs to the area.
