MINERAL SPRINGS – The Howard County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a break-in that occurred at a deer camp on Trails End Road. Deputy Joey Davis received a call regarding the break-in on Feb. 22. When Deputy Davis arrived, he was met by Mike Hale and John Green. Hale “advised that he lives at the end of Trails End and is on the hunting lease but the owner, Samuel Gentry, lives in New Orleans.” Hale told Davis that his wife noticed fresh tracks turning in the camp that morning. “Hale advised that his wife contacted him and went to the camp and noticed that the front door to the camp building was opened and the door appeared to be pried open with some tools. He noticed Mr. Gentry’s ATV was stolen.”
Hale added that he went to another storage building and noticed that a whirlpool washing machine and Maytag dryer was also stolen. Davis added in his officer’s notes that “Gerald Landsdale came to the camp and he advised that he had some old Mineral Springs Police uniforms stolen out of the storage room as well.” Gentry told Davis that the ATV was a red 2006 Honda Rancher four-wheel drive.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information regarding this break-in, call the HCSD at 870-845-2626.
