Fatality in Monday afternoon Sevier County two-vehicle accident

State police said a Lockesburg resident died Monday afternoon in a two vehicle accident along Highway 71 in Sevier
County. Sixty-two-year-old Katherine Stegall was the driver of a 2007 Ford Explorer that crossed the center line of the
highway. Her vehicle hit the rear axle of a trailer being pulled by an oncoming Mack truck. A passenger in the Explorer, 63
-year-old Larry Stegall, was injured and transported to a De Queen hospital.
Authorities said the accident happened just west of the Cossatot River Bridge around 3 p.m. and was investigated by
state police Corporal J.D. Jones.
