Brother Ira Hendrix, Jr. was born to Ira Hendrix and Isabel McFadden Hendrix on September 30, 1931 in Nashville, Arkansas. His parents proceeded him in death. Ira was a graduate of the then Childress School and enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 and served until 1952 in the Korean War, 10th Division; PFC.
Brother Ira loved his family and he leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Ralph (Debra) Hendrix of Texarkana, Texas, Rodney (Karen) Nelson of Nashville, and Ira Scott of Hope; ten granddaughters; six grandsons; numerous cousins; friends; and a host of loved ones.
If there is something to remember about Ira Hendrix, Jr., Ralph stated: “He raised two sons on his own after the early, untimely death of his wife, our mother. He was firm, yet loving and above all faithful to his God, his church, and community until his illness”. This we ask you to remember.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Nashville Funeral Home.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the 6th Street auditorium in Nashville. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
