Nashville’s new Cash Saver Cost Plus Food Store will open for business on Wednesday, Dec. 16, according to manager Tim Allen.

The store will open at 628 South Main Street in the building formerly occupied by Charlie’s Thriftway and is expected to employ 40-plus workers.

Allen said an employee and interview application session will be held at the new store on Thursday, Dec 3 and Friday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, for prospective managers, cashiers and stockers.

Shoppers can expect Cash Saver to offer competitive prices through its cost-plus program in which products will be offered at the cost it takes to get them on the shelves with 10 percent added at the register, according to Allen.

Monday, Mrs. Claus, passing as a representative of The Nashville Leader, paid a visit to the new store’s location.

Crews were busy Monday converting the old Charlie's Thriftway sign to the Cash Saver sign.
